Description

Fundamentals of Downstream Operations is a web-based class on the basics of the refining, transportation, and marketing functions of the oil industry.  The course provides students with a understanding of the downstream activities of the oil business from transportation of crude oil and refined products to the sale of refined products. Students will learn how crude oil is transformed into refined products and petrochemicals, the different sales outlets for gasoline and diesel fuel, the driving forces and economics of downstream operations, and the basic strategies that are employed in refining and marketing.
